IntroductionFeugh Fest was born from a desire to stage an outdoor live music event similar to Glassel Gig. Glassel Gig ran for seven years and was great for bringing the community together, giving to local charities and of course, the live music. Organiser, Mark Valentine commented: "When Glassel Gig stopped, we were very disappointed, so much so that we decided to do something about it!" The festival will be held in King George V Park, Banchory, Aberdeenshire on Saturday 30th August 2008. Camping facilities are available from Saturday night into the morning of Sunday 31st August. CommunityMr. Mark Valentine, the main organiser of Feugh Fest, wishes to maintain close links with the local community and for Feugh Fest to become an annual event that is enjoyed by everyone. Feugh Fest will donate a percentage of its profits to a local charity. Last year we donated to the Aberlour Child Care Trust, and similarly this year we will be making a donation to a childrens charity. StagesThere are two stages at Feugh Fest. The main stage will host international acts and UK touring acts. The second stage will host local talent from around the Grampian area. Please note that some areas near the front of either stage may be very crowded. TransportBuses:We plan to have a shuttle bus that will run from central Aberdeen straight to the Feugh Fest site, we will provide more information as soon as possible. There are currently regular buses to Banchory being run by Stagecoach Bluebird from Aberdeen Bus Station. Services 201, 202 and 203 will take you to the main road in Banchory, which is a 4 minute walk from the Festival site. A free car park will be available which can be accessed from the main Banchory to Strachan road, between Dee and Feugh bridges. Disabled parking places will be available. Additional parking can be found in Banchory Bellfield and Feugh Bridge car parks both of which are within walking distance.
